Summer Reading Club is Coming!

Summer Reading Club

Beginning May 28, sign up for our Summer Reading Clubs for all ages. Click on a link below for more information about our programs for those 18 and under.

Dig Into Reading - Ages 2 to 11

Beneath the Surface - Teens ages 12 to 18

Groundbreaking READS - Summer Reading Club for adults of all ages - Register on the Adult side of the library, then stop by the library each week to enter a drawing slip for each book you have read. Weekly drawing winners receive a gift certificate to an area business. A weekly word game or puzzle gives you a second chance to win a prize. The last day to register for the adult reading club is July 3 and drawings begin June 10 and continue through July 26.

Wednesday, May 22 at 6:45 PM - With Phase 1 of our expansion complete, we now face the challenge of a parking lot that is more than occasionally FULL! The Phase 2 addition of desired amenities cannot be achieved without community involvement and a responsible spending plan. Join us for a presentation of a way to the future from Friends officers and library board members. As always, your thoughts and ideas are crucial to your library's success.

Thursdays at 6 PM (ages 18 to 25) - Home from college for the summer but miss having your nose in a book? Looking for a group to talk with about that book that you just couldn't put down? This group is for you!

Poetry Discussion Group

Poetry

Calling all poetry lovers! From Langston Hughes to Edna St. Vincent Millay, this group will discuss a selection of poems once a month. Poetry packets are available at the Adult Circulation Desk.

Discover Your Family's History

Saturday, June 22 from 1 to 3 PM - Learn more about searching for your family's history, including new features from the 1940 census. You can begin your research by learning to use Ancestry Library Edition, a database available at the Cherry Valley Library.

Before class, stop by the library to pick up (or download here) a family history worksheet to complete and bring to class.
