Hero Gives Blood

Be a Hero and Donate Blood!

Thursday, August 6 from 2:30 to 5:30 PM - The Rock River Valley Blood Center Blood Mobile will be here. Donating blood is safe, simple, and it saves lives; a one time donation can help to save up to three lives. First time donors please bring a photo ID. Be sure to have plenty to eat and drink before you donate.

All donors will receive a coupon to McDonald's for one free small McCafe beverage!

Call the library at 815-332-5161 to reserve a time to donate. Walk-ins are also welcome.



Discover Your Family's History

Saturday, August 22 from 1 to 3 PM - Learn more about researching your family’s history using Ancestry Library Edition, a database available at the Cherry Valley Library. Before class, stop by the library to pick up and fill out the family history worksheet to bring to class (or download and print here).

iPad User's Group

Tuesday, August 25 at 10:30 AM or Thursday, August 27 at 6 PM - Come and talk to other iPad owners about how you are using your iPad. Ask questions and learn tips and tricks. This month, we will focus on Calendar Tips and Tricks.

AARP Driver Safety Program

AARP Driver Safety Program

Thursday, September 10 from 12:30 to 4:30 PM and Friday, September 11 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM - Ed McMahon instructs this two-day driver safety course which reviews the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate a vehicle safely. Payment is due the first day of class - $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Make your checks payable to AARP.
