Use First Search to search for books and other materials in libraries worldwide, articles in all areas of medicine, including dentistry and nursing using MEDLINE, scholarly journals, and the World Almanac.

Use the Gale Virtual Reference Library to find full-text articles on almost any topic, from business and law, to medicine, social science, and religion. This is a good source for biographical information, too. The Gale Virtual Reference Library is the online version of over 300 multi-disciplinary reference sources. (The password for outside of library access is "remote")

Use Heritage Quest to access census records, a genealogy book collection, the Periodical Source Index, Revolutionary War Pension Applications, and more.

Use Illinois Legal Aid if you need legal help. You can find information about your legal rights and responsibilities, referrals to free and low cost legal aid offices, and forms and instructions for representing yourself.

Learning Express Library
Use Learning Express Library to find job search information, testing and review courses, and practice tests to help you succeed on Firefighter, Nursing, TOEFL, GED, & Citizenship exams, and more. LearningExpress Library provides a completely interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial courses.

Use Literary Reference Center to find information about authors and works of literature, reviewed critical analyses, and brief plot and character summaries. This full-text database includes information from major respected reference works, books, literary journals as well as original content.

Use MasterFILE Elite to search for articles from over 1000 current, popular magazines. This database provides full-text for more than 1,050 general publications with coverage dating as far back as 1984, covering virtually every subject area of general interest.

Use NoveList Plus to find book reviews, discussion guides, plot summaries for over 135,000 fiction titles. This is a good tool for finding all the titles in a particular series. Parents and teachers, this is a great tool for finding books for kids based on reading level.
